Sliding Doors Edinburgh
Space saving solution, glides perfect. Every time!
Our fully thermally broken aluminium patios are a popular alternative to the bifolding doors. While not offering the option to fully open up the space, sliding patio is a fantastic space saving solution – you will not require to sacrifice any space internally or externally to allow for the doors to open.
Available in multiple options – from 2 panels sliding each way to 4 panels sliding to the outside, our aluminium patio doors are very versatile and highly popular amongst our client.
The system we use is Visoglide 1000. System which boasts a very slim, 35mm meeting rail between the sliding panes. This, combined with the sizes we can achieve (up to 5500mm on 2 leaf configuration!), makes our aluminium patio door a perfect answer if you are lucky enough to have a great view.
Our aluminium patios are available in two variants – slide only and lift & slide.

Sliding Doors Edinburgh for Modern Living
Sliding doors are designed to glide smoothly along a track rather than opening inwards or outwards. This makes them ideal for rooms where space matters.
They are often used for:
- Patio and garden access
- Extensions and open plan living areas
- Balconies and terraces
The large glass panels bring in natural light and give clear views outside. At the same time, the slim frames keep the look neat and modern.

Why Choose Aluminium Sliding Doors
Aluminium is one of the best materials for sliding doors. It is strong, long lasting, and low maintenance.
Key benefits include:
- Slim frames for wider glass panels
- Strong and secure construction
- Resistant to weather and corrosion
- Easy to clean and maintain
Because aluminium is so strong, it can support larger panes of glass. This means fewer visible frames and a more open feel.
Smooth Operation with Lift and Slide Systems
Many aluminium sliding doors use a lift and slide system. This makes even large doors easy to open.
How it works
When you turn the handle, the door panel lifts slightly from the track. This reduces friction and allows it to slide smoothly. When closed, the panel lowers back into place and locks securely.
This system is ideal for larger openings where standard sliding doors may feel heavy.
Energy Efficient and Secure
Modern sliding doors are built with energy efficiency in mind. Double glazing comes as standard, with triple glazing available for improved insulation.
What this means for your home
- Better heat retention in winter
- Less heat loss through glass
- Reduced outside noise
- Lower energy bills over time
Security is also important. Multi point locking systems and toughened safety glass help keep your home protected.
Made to Measure Sliding Doors
Every home is different, so sliding doors are made to fit your space.
Options available
- Two, three, or four panel systems
- Double or triple track designs
- Low threshold options for easy access
- A wide range of colours and finishes
- Different handle styles and hardware
You can choose a finish that matches your windows, doors, or interior style. Dual colour options are also available if you want a different look inside and out.
